2022 Convocation Q & A

We’re thankful for the lively participation of Chris Cody, Trenae Howard, Chad Janetzke, Mason Kaschinske, Cory Newman, Mike Oldenburg, Erin Rogers, Becky Schmidt, Wendy Seban, Sarah Wallace, and the LEA staff—all under the able guidance of Leah Abel.

See the Convocation Budget Guide and the Convocation Deposit OPTIONS to help you figure how much it will cost. If you act before July, 2021, you can use LEA’s membership payment installment plan.

Yes. They wouldn’t be surprises if I told you now. Watch LEAnews for regular updates.

See the Convocation Gallery for photos.

Milwaukee hosted the 1993 and 2013 convocations. They have a good record for service and accessibility.

Ninety percent of the hotel rooms are either connected to or across the street from the convention center.

Costs for the seven selected the hotels range from $124.00-- $139.00 per room per night. Taxes are extra at 15.1%.

We have plenty of rooms, but do not call the hotels directly for your room reservations! First, you have to register for the convocation on the registration site. Once done, you will need to use that same site to reserve your hotel rooms at the conference rates.

No. Registration is all-inclusive. Your registration is good for the entire convocation.

Weekly issues of LEAnews and the convocation website will provide the most comprehensive information. LEA’s Facebook page.

Scott Hamilton is also a cancer survivor, TV broadcaster, Christian husband, and father of four children in faith-based schools. His faith is in God as the source of his achievements and strength in times of challenge. He will speak to us as an example of how God has used him and others in his life. Oh, he also happens to be a good speaker.

No. The advantage of membership is that it offers a reduced registration rate. What is $365 for members is $505 for nonmembers.

We recommend those flown by pilots who look older than your eighth grade grads! You’ll find Air Canada, Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, and United among the regulars. Check fares and restrictions carefully. (Under no circumstances should you book on DairyAir.)

You should plan to stay at any of the convocation special-rate hotels listed and described on the Hotel Information page. Be sure to see the Convocation Registration Tips in the right margin or Planning Tools on the LEA website to facilitate your planning.

Yes. Always a popular place at convocations! More than 100 exhibitors with many products and services will be there, and you can visit the Virtual Exhibit Hall anytime.

A: Uh, school is out…

Q: Okie-dokie. How can I find out if a certain speaker is speaking?

A: Check out the handy-dandy Sectionals by Presenter Name guide.

Tell them that October is Go on a Field Trip Month, and you’re celebrating with an event that will make you an even better educator!

You can also promise them to not have any fun (but that would be a lie. See here.)
