Network Formation
Networks may be added as needs are recognized. The following outlines the process for adding networks
1.
An individual or group of individuals identifies a need for professional growth in a ministry or area of ministry. This need is communicated to the Executive Director of LEA, who shares the proposal with LEA staff, the Network Coordinating Council (NCC), and the Board of Directors.
2.
A committee of two to four individuals interested in forming a new network is convened with full participation by the Executive Director and the Director of Publications and Communications. The group will discuss the purpose of the new network and how it fits within the mission of LEA, namely to link, equip, and affirm educators in Lutheran ministries. Upon consensus of all present, the individuals presenting the proposal will receive executive appointment to serve in a Leadership Team position. Appointees, if less than four individuals, will seek to fill remaining positions as soon thereafter as possible. Appointments are made according to the previously listed "Appointment Process" in the Network Leadership section.
