Directors of Christian Education Network (DCEnet)

Purpose: DCEnet is an LEA Network that advocates for, links, and equips Directors of Christian Education to serve more effectively in God's kingdom.

“A Strategy for New Staff Entering the Parish”  By Ben Freudenburg.

Mission:  Discover the Culture and Climate of the Congregation

Purpose:  To discover the common understandings or the disparity among staff and leadership concerning the history, culture, and climate of the congregation, and the role and function and expectation of staff.

LEA Awards for DCEs

 

LEA Master DCE

LEA's Master DCE award became an annual presentation beginning in 2005. General qualifications for the award appear below:

  • Strong commitment to serving the Lord

  • Active in local community as well as Lutheran community

  • Commitment to excellence and meeting the social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive needs of congregation members or others served

  • Active Director of Christian Education with at least 15 years experience in a Lutheran congregation or agency  

  • Outstanding leadership through program development, effective ministry, resource development, etc. 

  • Active member of LEA and participant in DCEnet

LEA Outstanding New DCE

  • Strong commitment to serving the Lord

  • Active in local community as well as Lutheran community

  • Commitment to excellence and meeting the social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive needs of congregation members or others served

  • Active Director of Christian Education with 3 or fewer years experience in a Lutheran congregation or agency

  • Outstanding leadership through program development, effective ministry, resource development, etc. 

  • Active member of LEA and participant in DCEnet

Nominate someone for the annual Master DCE or Outstanding New DCE Awards.
