K-12 Alumni Engagement: Connecting to Your Past for Your Future
Presented by Jon Dize, Director for Advancement, The Lutheran Schools Partnership, Fort Wayne, Ind.
When you hear the word, “Alumni Fundraising,” most people think of colleges and universities. On the contrary, per the Handbook for Educational Fundraising, K-8 and high schools  “with successful and long-term alumni programs raise larger gifts in proportion to the size of the enterprise than the leading colleges and universities.” Utilizing both research and real-world examples, Mr. Dize will illustrate the reasons to start an alumni engagement program, the most common barriers to starting a program, the steps to creating a program, the basics for a database tracking system, and who should be responsible for the entire process. Alumni represent your past, and this presentation will help provide the foundation of your school’s future.
